The Plan of Salvation

God loves you and desires a relationship with you. Salvation is a gift from God, made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Romans Road to Salvation uses Scripture from the book of Romans to explain our need for a Savior and how we can receive God's gift of salvation.

1. Recognize That We Have All Sinned

• Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
• Sin separates us from God. No matter who we are or what we have done, every one of us needs God's grace and forgiveness.

2. Understand the Consequence of Sin

• Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
• Sin leads to separation from God, but God offers us something we could never earn on our own—the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

3. Believe That Jesus Died for You

• Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
• God did not wait for us to become perfect. Because He loves us, Jesus Christ died for our sins and made a way for us to be reconciled to God.

4. Confess and Believe

• Romans 10:9–10: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
• Salvation comes by placing your faith in Jesus Christ—believing that He is Lord, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead.

5. Call on the Name of the Lord

• Romans 10:13: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
• God's invitation is open to everyone. You can receive His gift of salvation today by placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Are You Ready to Receive Christ?

You can talk to God right where you are. Salvation is not about saying perfect words; it is about sincerely placing your faith in Jesus Christ. If you are ready to receive Him, you may pray:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. I ask You to forgive me of my sins. I confess You as Lord and place my faith and trust in You. Come into my life, make me new, and help me to follow You. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
