The success of Gethsemane was predicated upon a group of faithful individuals who dared to trust God for the unknown and to remain committed to the call of God upon their lives. The new church quickly acknowledged that adequate space was needed in order for the ministry to carry out its mission. Shortly after two weeks of the church being formed, it was able to acquire a facility in which to carry out its work. Four weeks later, a larger and more suitable space was secured. Two years following, the church transitioned from a rented facility into its own new state of the art complex. Throughout the years, the church continued to grow rapidly and people were experiencing the transforming power of God in their lives.
With a vision to declare a gospel that would bring about positive change in the lives of people, additional space was needed to facilitate the vision and the explosive growth. Thus, the current building was erected.
The project would be huge, but also was our faith. Eight years from the start of planning, gathering resources, and construction, we were able to walk into the "Transformation Place."
The building was erected with contributions from members and funds borrowed from a lending institution. Needless to say, with a large mortgage and accompanying expenses it has reduced the level of ministry in which the church has been called to engage. In addition to those expenses, the current building was constructed with a remaining phase to be completed, the sanctuary.
Our current building was erected with contributions from members and funds borrowed from a lending institution. Needless to say, with a large mortgage and accompanying expenses, the level of ministry that our church could perform is reduced. That's the reason why we are launching this new campaign to positon our church to further its mission.
Those who have gone before us laid a great foundation upon which we all can continue to build. It is my prayer that you would join the movement and allow God to use you to carry us on the next round.
This campaign will be crucial to the future of the church's mission. The focus will be that of reducing the current mortgage which will benefit the church in two ways.
First, reducing the mortgage by paying additional monies on the principal will save the church hundreds of thousands of dollars which in turn allows more funds to go to ministry that will help to transform the lives of young men and women.

Second, the reduction of the church's mortgage better positions the church to enter the second phase of the building project, which is to complete the new sanctuary.
Looking back over the experiences of this great church, we can affirm that our Great God has done great things through us. Certainly, If He's done it before, He can do it again.
This is the time to rise to the occasion, and PAY DOWN TO BUILD UP.
