"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I
am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive
it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the
wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the
owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in
the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen people
I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”
Isaiah 43:18-21 (NIV)
As we approach the one year commemoration of this journey we
call Operation Transformation, it seems an appropriate time
to reflect on the past year to see what God has done. We
have witnessed the Lord’s hand moving throughout our family.
Many among us have experienced divine healing. He has
blessed many among us with new jobs, promotions, and even
new homes. He has continued to clear the way for our new
edifice, despite obstacles and opposition. As we look back
over the past year, truly we can say God has been faithful
to us. Yet, the Lord says, “Forget the former things…I am
doing a new thing.” So, as we reflect on all the Lord has
done, we do so with the knowledge that we have not seen
anything, yet! God is preparing to do a new thing among us
and through us. In fact, He has already begun. So let us not
be afraid of change. Let us embrace the new thing(s) that
God is doing in each of our lives.
Prayer Focus: God, our Father and our Sustainer, we come to
you with hearts full of thanksgiving. You have been so good
to us. Even when we have disappointed you, you have remained
faithful to us. Great things you have done. Still, we know
that you are doing a new thing. Though it does not yet
appear what all you will do in our lives, we submit
ourselves to you and commit ourselves to your way. Please
help us to be patient as you perfect your will for our
lives. Help us to keep open minds and receptive hearts for
the new thing(s) that you are doing and that you will do.
Have your way in us, O Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray.
Amen.
