"So
do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord.
Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance
is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s
will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”
Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)
Get ready Gethsemane; the time has come! As you know, God
called us to join Him in His work. When God decides to work
through His people, He often gives assignments that have
“God-sized” dimensions. Why has God chosen or called us?
God has called us because He wants to reveal Himself and
because He wants to bless us. Through our obedience to this
call, God will bless us because He blesses those who are
obedient to Him. Gethsemane, this is not the time for us to
give up and throw away our trust in God.
Hebrews 10:35-36 tells us that even as we face trials and
persecution, we must stand firm. We must remain faithful
and patiently endure so that we may obtain God’s blessing.
We are encouraged to persevere. It is important that we do
not become discouraged and give into despair at the onset of
trials.
So, Gethsemane, don’t give up or throw in the towel. God
has this thing under control. He will see each of us
through whatever trials that He sends our way according to
His word. Continued obedience through the fulfillment of
our pledges and constant prayer will be richly rewarded.
Prayer Focus: Almighty Father in Heaven, You know each one
of us. You know the desires of our hearts. Lord, bless us
in a mighty way as we come together to work for the
Kingdom. Touch our minds so that we are not distracted by
the current state of our surroundings. Father, bless our
finances, stretch them and multiply them so that they may be
used in the building and uplifting of your Kingdom. Release
your loving provision that we might be blessed through our
obedience to your call. And Father, as we progress forward
into our assignment. Allow us to come together as one in
accordance to 2 Corinthians 8:14, supporting our brothers
and sisters so that together we may share in the blessings
of Your word. Amen.
