Deaconess Vera Riddick

Our Rose in the Garden of Gethsemane

Living to Serve God

Deaconess Vera Riddick continues to inspire the women and men of Gethsemane as we witness the strength within. WE thank God for the way she allows God to use her to be a blessing to all of us. She is faithful, dedicated and devoted. When we think of Sister Riddick, we think of one whose energy never seems to fail. She encourages us with her smile, kind word, a hug or even a few words of inspiration.

Sister Riddick is important to the entire church body. Her role as Pastor's Riddick's wife and partner in the ministry allows her to wear many hats. She is truly a wife, mother, confidant, counselor and friend. She generously gives of herself time and time again without asking for anything in return. Through her example, we are encouraged to continue, though times may be hard to do what is right in the sight of God.

The word strength may be defined as: the power to accomplish something, the power to resist attach, great effectiveness and the tendency to remain firm. The word encourage is defined as: to give confidence, to embolden, hearten, be favorable foster and help. Through Sister Riddick, we see a living image of these characteristics. She constantly demonstrates her love for the congregation with her caring, concern and compassion for its members. Standing beside our Pastor ready to serve as needed, she is truly a model of what a woman of God should be.

We here at Gethsemane Baptist Church are indeed blessed to have Lady Vera as our own first lady. Thank you Sister Riddick for your example - for it is through your precedent and witness that we draw strength and courage to run on for the kingdom

Please be encourage in knowing that we love you. We thank God for your presence and example in our lives and we pray that He will continue to use you in a powerful way.

To God Be the Glory!
